Astronomer Charles Kowal discovered Chiron on November 1, 1977. You will see many discovery charts giving the time as 10:00 AM. However, in his letter to me, back in 1978, Charles stated that he discovered this body "a little before 10."
I worked with Astrologer Al H. Morrison for months on the discovery chart, relating it to events the followed the discovery, as well as to the chart of Charles Kowal himself, and we deduced that 9:56 fit so much better than 10:00, as well as fitting Charles statement, "a little before 10." So that is the chart you see above. |
